Overview

What Is a Notary Signing Agent?

A Notary Signing Agent (NSA) is a commissioned notary public with specialized training in mortgage and real estate loan documents. Unlike a general notary, an NSA understands the full loan package — what each document means, where signatures and initials are required, and what must be notarized before the package can be returned to the lender or title company.

Aldora is a certified member of the National Notary Association and maintains active profiles with leading signing platforms — giving title companies, lenders, and signing services confidence in every assignment.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a notary and a notary signing agent?
A general notary public can notarize many types of documents — affidavits, powers of attorney, acknowledgments, and more. A Notary Signing Agent is a notary with additional specialized training in mortgage and real estate loan packages. An NSA knows how to present, organize, and notarize a full closing package, and understands the requirements lenders and title companies need to fund a loan.
What do I need to bring to my loan signing?
All signers listed on the loan must bring a valid, government-issued photo ID — such as a driver's license or passport. Some lenders require two forms of ID, so check with your lender beforehand. If you've received a Closing Disclosure, reviewing it before the signing can help things move smoothly.
How long does a loan signing typically take?
It depends on the loan type. Purchase loan and refinance signings typically take 60–90 minutes. Seller package signings are shorter — usually 30–45 minutes. Reverse mortgage signings are the longest, often 90 minutes to 2+ hours due to the size and complexity of the package. We always allow enough time and never rush the process.
Can you come to my home or office?
Yes — that's the whole idea. Aldora's Notary & Apostille Service is fully mobile. We come to your home, your office, a local library, a coffee shop, or any other mutually agreed location within our service area. You don't have to go anywhere.
What counties do you serve for loan signings?
We serve Harnett, Wake, Cumberland, Lee, Moore, and Hoke counties in North Carolina. If your property or preferred signing location is outside these areas, contact us and we'll let you know if we can accommodate your request.
I'm a title company or lender. How do I add Aldora to my signing network?
You can reach us directly at 910.795.1227 or through our Contact page. We're also active on Snapdocs, Notary Stars, Notary Rotary, Notary Cafe, and Notary Resume — so you can add us through any of those platforms as well. We're happy to provide credentials, background check documentation, and E&O coverage information upon request.
